The Father

{John 14:9} Jesus answered, “For a long time I have been with you all; yet you do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. Why, then, do you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.

Who is the Father? The Creator, Adonai, Elshaddai, the Spirit, King of Kings, Lord of Lords. There are many definitions to the Father. But I am loving this particular one….”whoever has seen me has seen the Father.”

The Father is God. The Father sent His son Jesus Christ on earth that we could meet Him – He allowed us to meet Him through Jesus Christ! How awesome!😀😀 How wonderful!

It’s so sad that this beautiful answer is always missed – That the Father is the Son – they are one!

Let’s look at Jesus while on earth to give us a few answers about the Father.

1). He is Compassionate

{Matthew 14:15-16}

As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away , so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.” Jesus replied, “ They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”

2). He is full of mercy
{John 8:1-11}

4 “Teacher,” they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the act of adultery. The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?”

9 When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman. Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?”
“No, Lord,” she said. And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.”

3). He has power over sin and He forgives sin and sets us free from it. 😀

{Luke 5:20-21}

When Jesus saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.” The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves, “Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

4). He is a friend

{John 11:1-44}

A man named Lazarus was sick. He lived in Bethany with his sisters, Mary and Martha.

This is the Mary who later poured the expensive perfume on the Lord’s feet and wiped them with her hair.[a] Her brother, Lazarus, was sick. So the two sisters sent a message to Jesus telling him, “Lord, your dear friend is very sick.”

5) He has power over demons

{Mark 5:6-8;18-20}

When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him. He shouted at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In God’s name don’t torture me!” For Jesus had said to him, “Come out of this man, you impure spirit!……..18 As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon possessed begged to go with him. Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis[b] how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed.

6). He is very understanding hence he doesn’t judge as man does.
He knows our pain, our anguish, our tears, our struggles and guess what he understands it’s all! Our past – he knows. Our mistakes – he sees, knows and he still chooses to love and lead us towards the path of righteousness and restoration if we corporate with him like Zaccheaus the tax collector did.

{Luke 19:5-10}

When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.” So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly.

All the people saw this and began to mutter, “He has gone to be the guest of a sinner.”

Who is God the Father? The answer lies in who is Jesus Christ. Have you met Jesus? If so, the you have met the Father.

Christ thy kingdom come…
