Words Part II

“Our tongues are like matches, our ears are like trees, our words are like sparks on dry summer leaves, it doesn’t take much for the flames to rise and turn a soul into a forest fire.” These are words from the song, ‘Forest Fire’ by Josh Wilson. The song highlights the power of words and how words can affect a person.

Words are powerful whether written or spoken. They have the power to bind someone to negative power or set them free. They have power to alter one’s thoughts from positive to negative from weak to strong. Words can invite blessings or curses into our lives. They can invite goodness or evil into our lives hence it’s important to watch what we allow to dwell in our hearts. We also need to watch how we speak for words have power to open doors of goodness, blessings or evil into people’s lives

We have a responsibility to speak well, with courtesy and wisdom. But what if we are on the receiving end? What if we have met, been around or even lived with those whose words have become doors that allow negative power into our lives?

The thing is we have responsibility to be a brother’s keeper, but not everyone does that. We will or have met people who are insensitive, who lack wisdom, lack control and love in their speech and so their words will hurt, belittle, embarrass and make people feel awkward.

What happens when we meet such people or have heard words that wound us or even changed our thinking from strong to weak, from positive to negative? Answer, refuse to be controlled. Refused to allow those words to have an impact on you. Refuse to be partisan to those words. To be partisan is to be part and parcel of something.

In Kenya we have political parties like Narc Kenya, Jubilee, ODM etecetra. If you choose to be a politician via Jubilee then it means you accept to be party to it’s terms and conditions. If the party colour is red, then you have to wear red whether you like it or you don’t. If they contribute a certain amount for registration or renewal of it, then you also have to contribute. The little or big things you accept to do make you party to them.

Same with words. If someone; a loved one or a foe speaks words that are full of negativity and we agree to those words, then we will become party to those words hence controlled them.

How do we agree to negative words? By believing that those words speak facts about us and our lives while in actual sense they could just be but opinions!

I have come across a lot of negative words since childhood. I used to get teased alot and I would get words like:- “You have big ears like an elephant, you have big feet like a boy and girls are not meant to have big feet, you are too skinny.” and a lot more This happened most of my primary school and being in the same school for 14 years meant same bullies, same insensitive words. This made me sensitive about my appearance because I only heard the negative and not positive words about my physique, abilities or talents. This made me inferior and I thought all other girls were beautiful apart from me. I wore baggy clothes so that I could hide my ‘skinny’ self. And because I didn’t find myself beautiful, I also thought my abilities or talents were not worth much either. I always hid myself and when around boys, often I would be silent and allow my girl friends whom I saw as beautiful to speak around boys because I didn’t think I was ‘pretty enough’ to be noticed by boys.

As I grow older, I still meet people who are insensitive and lack wisdom in their speech. This goes to show lack of manners and sensitivity in speech is everywhere and with people of all ages. And so what do we do?

Refuse to be partisan to careless words directed to us that are full of bitterness, arrogance, pride, ignorance. We don’t have to accept them. They don’t have to find a home in our hearts.

In the Bible it is written: that a farmer had seeds of which some fell on the street, in the thorny bushes, others on the rocks while others on fertile ground. Those that fell on thorny bushes, choked hence couldn’t produce any plant while those that fell on fertile ground grew and produced forth plant and fruit. And so I choose to be a thorny bush to negative and careless words directed at me. Those words are like seeds which I hope choke with time hence their effect will not have an impact on my mental and emotional health. I, however, choose to become fertile to positive, kind words full of wisdom and power and hence they find a place to grow consequently having an impact on my mental, emotional and spiritual health.

Another way to deal with negative words is to counter them with powerful words from the Bible or another source which has positive energy. For me my power words come from the Bible. Example of a scripture that helps me overcome and be free from the grip of careless, insensitive words that opened a door to inferiority was the word of God in Genesis 1:31 – “He(God) looked at all He had created and it was pleasing.” This scripture is my freedom from lies for I have met truth in them that says I am pleasing🌺 🏵️🌼🌹. I had met boys who said I was pretty but my mind was too manipulated with all the negative words I had grown hearing about my physical appearance that I didn’t believe anyone who said I am beautiful. Genesis 1:31 and Psalms 139:13-14 broke the power of lies and set me free to love and appreciate myself.😘😍🤩🤗 So, every time I feel my self esteem is attacked, I read and meditate on those words hence allowing the positive vibe and the power of the Spirit behind those words have an impact on me.😊

Refuse to be party to negative words further, make an effort or a conscious decision to be around positive people who will build us and open doors of goodness and blessings through their words.

Proverbs 26:2- A curse you don’t deserve is like a bird flying without anywhere to land. So, in prayer declare that words full of negative power and curses are like birds flying without anywhere to land. May they not land in our lives and may the negative power that is wanting to operate through those words not do so in Jesus name!

Words are powerful and when carefully selected, they become doors that allow healing, breakthrough and blessings to flow to us or allow pain, hurt and manipulation to met us. We can either decide to bless, curse and harm people with our words further we have the freedom to choose which words to keep in our hearts and which ones to throw out into the gabbage bin, as gabbage they are! and move on. God bless you.

Jesus Loves

Luke 23:34(NIV)

Jesus said, Father, forgive them for they known what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes casting lots.

To me this☝🏻☝🏻 is love. If someone can say those words knowing very well that people deliberately conspired/wanted to kill and destroy his life and actually did achieve their mission!! But he forgave them anyway and prayed that the wrath of God will not fall on them then that is love.

Jesus loves; he really does and to date it still pours out. 👏🏼👏🏼😊😊 Thank you Jesus.

His love is very mature. It’s not fickle. It can stand it’s ground and not be tossed aside or shaken by things like rejection, abandonment, sorrow……….name it. No, His love cannot be shaken. It’s firm and principled . I have come to learn that pains in life however crazy they may be, they are not meant to destroy us or our capacity to love, actually they refine our ability to love. They give the love in our hearts muscle 💪🏻 Rejection ni uchungu for real it’s painful, to be abandoned is also painful and so many other fires that attack love are painful, but if we perserver and make it through the fire, i.e we don’t give up on love and it’s works, then my friend our ability to love will move to another level called maturity. Our ability to love will be graced meaning it can bear much.

I also like that Jesus loves with abandon. He doesn’t care about people’s opinions when it comes to love. Remember He leaves the 99 in search of that 1 lost sheep{Luke 15:1-7}. When it comes to love, I feel, he gives himself away 😊. He just loves and he loves freely. Do I love with abandon? Do we love with abandon? Do we abandon ourselves to the rules on love? That sounds crazy right? But you know what the ability to love this is not dependant on either me or you. It is dependant on the Jesus inside of us. So, now the question is? Do I have Jesus in me and does He indwell in me so that through Him I will have the ability and strength to love with abandon?

Jesus way of love is usually beyond human understanding and so are His actions when it comes to love.

Everything he does to us men, is mind boggling for we sometimes if not always fail to understand how He loves sinners and wrong doers whom we wish and sometimes pray🙈 that he can either remove or just punish severely🔥🔥

But he doesn’t because His love is not guided by man –His love is independent. It doesn’t seek permission to act and operate. It just moves like the wind – uncontrolled.

JESUS WE LOVE YOU and I like the FACT that you love us.
It’s good to know that YOU love us unconditionally and it is not because of anything we have done that makes us deserve your love. Nope! You just love us. And Jesus we love you right back. 😘

Jesus loves, He really does. And it pours out like the rains 🌧 giving life and hope where there is dryness. It shines bright and strong like the sun ☀ dispelling all darkness. Alleluia!!

It is every day, every minute and it is for all whether we acknowledge it or we do not; It still pours out and it still shines😊

The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want. The Lord is my everything and so I have everything – I shall not want.

Christ thy kingdom come.

I pray we feel this love, know it and connect to it. It’s in those points of connection do we truly have everything we need. Alleluia👏🏼👏🏼🙌🏻🙌🏻

God loves you.

So will I

“If you left the grave behind you so will I. ” words from a song titled, ‘So will I’ by Brooke Lingertwood of Hill Song worship group and they give me a lot hope and encouragement.

There are two things that stand out from that statement:-

1). I am encouraged to know that, just as Jesus was triumphant over death so will I be triumphant over hardships and troubles of this world for He whom I look up to is victorious! John 16:33 states that in the world we will have many troubles but we should not be troubled instead have peace for He overcame and is victorious and so through Him we are victorious!

2). We have to want be free; if we are going to be free. We have to desire to leave the grave for the Lord works powerfully through a will that is willing to be free.

Take for example someone who wants to forget the shame of always being number last in class; that person will obviously have heard countless times that anyone can be successful and can be the top of the class if they desire to. The trick is though, he/she has got to want success; to get it! The heart and mind have got to want freedom from shame, ridicule, stagnation and backwardness so as to be free! Nothing comes handed down on a silver platter especially not something called victory hence success.

In my life, I have seen God get me out of the grave(s).

One of the graves was an addiction to pornography. I, unfortunately, watched pornography at the age of 11 years. My best friend’s father came with a porn tape in the house and hid it behind one of the sofa’s. His children became curious to know what was hidden and so the next day they waited for him to leave the house and when we visited them we found porn being watched. We didn’t watch it for long because it was disgusting to our hearts at the time but the harm was already done for I stayed with those images in my head/heart. As I grew older, while in high school and part of my university years I would crave for porn images because the more I watched and thought about them, the more I liked how they made me feel good. I thank God very much that I never masturbated nor tried out what I watched with men. However, my mind was reduced to the slavery of thinking about and wanting more pornographic material. To date; I consider it a miracle that I passed my K.C.P.E (final exams in primary school) for porn images would mess up my concentration. Fast forward and I met Jesus and His saving grace through the Vincentian Ministries here in Kenya. Jesus saved me from addiction to porn and now my mind is free – 7 years now! I am free to do awesome, powerful things like to write articles which inspire others in many other ways and moreso to know Christ.

Another grave was unforgiveness. For the longest time in my life I had issues with forgiving. I could hold a grudge and not let go. I used to admire my brother for it was easy for him to forgive. To date he doesn’t hold grudges. To me that is a beautiful, happy and peaceful life for I know how crazy and tiresome it is to hold grudges. I struggled with forgiving myself, my parents, friends and pretty much anyone who hurt my feelings. I remember it was hardest to forgive my mum. I used to find her unfair for she used to beat me up especially when it my brother’s fault, she would blame me for things I didn’t do. Like one time, I remember, she blamed for stealing her shoes and selling them and it the house help who did it! besides around that time I was too young to hack such! Sometimes, I felt she didn’t like it when my dad favoured me over my brothers which to be honest is not anything a child has control over!

I grew up with feelings of rejection na kuonewa hence bitterness and with time, anger towards my mum started to build up for I felt that all of it was unfair. I wanted to challenge her and speak my mind, but I also feared her very much so I didn’t. Over time, the bitterness grew and I discovered it denied me a lot of peace and denied our relationship strength and growth. It was like there was a rift between us, no depth in our love and a lack of easiness in loving especially on my end. I always felt like I had to win my mum’s affection. I didn’t like it and I hated those bitter and angry feelings and so I prayed a lot for deliverance hence freedom. I harbored those feelings for quite some time meaning the bitterness and anger were deeply rooted but, I declared now that the Lord is powerful and faithful for I was set free!! I prayed and moreso through the Novena of the Precious Blood; not for 9 days, but for 2 months until this bitterness left me. It wasn’t easy and I felt like giving up but the desire to be free was too strong and God saw the persistence and faith for I did eventually receive my freedom. The pain is gone, the bitterness is gone and I was able to open up to my mum – she listened, she understood me and she even apologized!!!! The relationship that the devil was trying to destroy was restored back to former glory – it’s even better😍. It grows stronger because we can now talk with my mum for hours on phone something we never used to do. I usually can’t wait to go and visit her and just be with her and talk for more hours😊.

The above are examples of how Jesus got me out of graves that devil had dug and put me in. The reason I say the devil dug, is because the devil can and does create situations that allow us to enter a grave without our knowledge. He can create situations in families, between friends, in church even in non -spiritual groups where enmity, strife, hate, bitterness will grow and then he pushes us to the grave.

Psalms 121:1-2 I will look to the mountain and where will my help come from? My help will come from the Lord who made the heaven and the earth.

Jesus Christ is our sure help in all situations:- the bad, crazy, worse…. He is the way out. He is the way out of a painful, shameful, backward, traumatic past to a new life like Zacchaeus, the sinful woman, the adulterous woman. He is the way to achieving our heart’s desire!

Do you want to leave a grave(s) maybe one called addiction, bitterness, unforgiveness, rejection, poverty, sickness, pride, witchcraft, demonic oppression and possession? Answer, you can.

I) You have to want out.

II) Pray and ask Jesus to set you free.

For he came for the lost, he came to love the rejected, the abandoned and abused. He came to give hope where there is little or none. He came to set the captives free. Luke 4:18. Believe this and you are on your way to freedom, and a permanent one sealed with His powerful blood. Alleluia.

God has the power to raise us out of any grave whether it’s a 6ft or 100ft deep. Irregardless of how long we have stayed there; he is able. There’s nothing new of difficult for God as is written in Ecclesiastes 1:9, that there is nothing new under the sun. It’s just a matter of being humble, cry out for help and believe and trust that He will do it and sure enough He will.

I am not saying that it will be easy, I am, however, saying that persistence and focus pays off and Jesus is mighty to save. Alleluia! And when you feel like giving up; remember that you are not alone, many – very many people experience difficulties that you would not want to experience so, cheer up and push forward until you receive victory. Also know that the chance to see another day means – try again and long as you’ve got breath, you’ve got another chance to choose and fight for freedom and with God on out side, we are sure to be victorious!

God loves you and God bless you.

Psalms 27:13-14 I know that I will live to see the LORD’s goodness in this present life. Trust in the LORD. Have faith, do not despair. Trust in the LORD.

Since the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of God suffers violence, and violent men take it by force. Matthew 11:12(NKJV) –  a scripture that I have been meditating on recently and has been such a blessing.  I hope it blesses you too.  Let me say what led me to the scripture was in response to praying for a friend, and it became clear that the lack of victory in some areas of his life were because of lack violence in his life.

Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart -Psalms 37:4  further it’s written in  Matthew 6:33 – But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Which is true but it’s also true that nothing comes on a silver platter – meaning nothing especially those that are of value come easy. We need to work hard to achieve them.

Key  things to note:-

*Violence is allowed

*Brace yourself

*Be prepared to win

Priscilla Shirer once preached and said, “God allows the violence.” And I concur. I believe He allows this violence or this attitude of fighting for blessings so that we can know the value of blessings and not take them for granted instead we should fight for them so that they are not attacked or stolen from us by the devil.

Who or what suffers  violence? According to the scriptures, it’s the kingdom of God does and everything in it.

Who is in the kingdom of God? You and I who are God’s children through His son Jesus Christ{Galatians 3:26}.

Now, if we are in the kingdom of God and we do that which pertains the kingdom which is spreading it’s power around us, then we will meet violence. The peace, joys, breakthrough, love, unity, togetherness we want and desire, always suffer violence so that they are not able to stand or hold together and do the works they are purposed to do. We also suffer violence so that we can fail in doing the works of the Father. So that we can have miserable lives, give up, quit even want to die without achieving our purposes{living out life in full as we ought to}.

People who suffered violence in the Bible:

  1. Mary and Joseph – when Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under – Matthew 2:16. The devil introduced violence to the family of Jesus through Herod but luckily they fled to Egypt and stayed there until the King died.
  2. David the King suffered violence through Saul. 1 Samuel chapter 18,19,20 speaks of David’s success in battles and  victories and how and Saul became jealous and wanted to kill David.
  3.  Joseph suffered violence through his brothers who because of jealousy wanted to kill him but instead sold him as a slave to merchants.  Genesis 37:18-28
  4. Uriah – Bathsheba’s husband was murdered in battle however it was a planned murder because David wanted his blessing(Bathsheba) and so the devil used David to bring violence into his life which actually finished him.

Violence is real and is expected but we are assured of victory. However, victory does not come by accident.

Grace Mwai a gospel artiste in Kenya sings in her song titled Kirathimo,”I want a blessing from you Lord that will change my life.”

Blessings do change people’s lives.

How so, a few examples 👇👇👇👇

  • Employment – eliminates poverty and allows the economy of a country to grow.
  • Marriage – Status change from single to getting a partner. God said man is the head and woman is a helper and doesn’t the scripture also say that, He who finds a wife, finds a good thing{Proverbs 18:22}. Someone who we can confide in, share ideas and grow and even have children with!
  • Education is another blessing for it eliminates illiteracy in people and in a country. Helps us to blend in with others, opens doors for us through careers which also translates to financial independence!
  • Friendships – that no man in an island is true because alone we cannot handle the challenges of life for they can easily weigh us down. Even in the joys of life we need people to share them with. Friends from God are a blessing. Some act as connectors to propel us to next level in life – jobs, spouses, mentor ship. Moral support through counsel and prayers.  I have a friend whom I value because she helped me grow in ministry. She somehow understood my challenges in ministry, she did not judge me but, took me in, mentored me, prayed for me, challenged me to growth in ministry. I remember she used to say, “Grace you have potential.” And now through constant mentor ship and love I am not scared to stand and minister the love of God through praise. I thank God for bringing someone along to way to help me through.

Blessings change our lives like Grace Mwai says in her song, ‘Kirathimo.’ and because they do, they therefore meet violence. She, further says that, we need to fight for our blessings and hold on to them because of the mere fact that they will change our lives for the better. And who doesn’t want that? Who doesn’t want life to change for the better?

What blessings do you have? Can you count them? Are you grateful for them? Are there blessings you wish they can your way in future? And what are you doing about it? What are you doing to achieve your blessings? Are you positioned for them?

Blessings; peace, joy, success, stability are fought ruthlessly and our ignorance does not calm the storms.

Matthew 11:12  reminds us to be alert and prepared because we are coming of harvest and if we are not ready then we risk losing it all in the battle.

Be prepared for your blessing.

If a blessing comes to change our lives then it means we need to be prepared for it so that it is not attacked and worse yet to the point of death.

Jesus taught us to be prepared. He fasted for 40 days and nights in preparation for the battle ahead that may arise against our blessings. His mission and goal was to win our souls back from the devil to the Father. Now, that was not going to be easy and if you noticed form scripture reading, Jesus faces a lot of challenges to the point of death. Jesus knew that to achieve his goals would not be easy and so He came prepared. I believe the fast graced him for the ministry(mission)ahead. It allowed the Spirit in Him to be strong and the flesh to be weak. This is what fasting does to us humans, it allows the Spirit of God to be strong in us while the power of the flesh becomes weak.  Jesus was able to attain victory over His blessings and one way is that He came prepared. In the bible it is written that He would often go to lonely places to pray and I think it was for the mission ahead.

Esther came prepared to be queen. She didn’t go to a losing battle, she actually prepared to win. She was prepared to be presented before the King. She didn’t just appear and magically expect her beauty to help her she, among other ladies had to prepare for 3 months before meeting the King. Her level of preparedness plus favour from God is what helped her stand out from the rest and become queen {Esther 2:5-18}.

The devil will violently attack us whether we are ignorant or knowledgeable, naive or experienced. He will do it to to prevent the kingdom of God from moving forth. You see when we are successful in achieving our hearts desires which are according to God’s will then the kingdom of God spreads of which the devil doesn’t like. He doesn’t like us to be happy, he doesn’t like us to be at peace and he doesn’t like our success at all.

I consider us blessed to know this scripture – Matthew 11:12. It also gives me strength to know that I am not the only one under the sun who meets hardships, all who are in the kingdom of God do, and if God allows a violence then he has provision for it. We are graced for this life. We are graced to do his will. We are graced to live out our purposes unto his glory. We are graced to be victorious. Alleluia!

In conclusion

1). Be prepared and be alert. I think it’s the worse thing to go about life and we seem not prepared for blessings/ opportunities. It’s sad. It does happen, it has happened to me and it’s painful. Let’s be alert and prepared.

2). Be focused – Lack of focus in life is enough for devil to attack a blessing. The devil thrives in confusion. If we are focused and determined to be successful in a particular area then chances are we will get it – what the mind conceives it achieves👍

3). Be self aware – Awareness of our lives, our ambitions and goals and what it takes to get out heart’s desire goes a long way in understanding the level of preparedness or violence we need to put up. Take for  example:- Two people who want to scale the ladder of education. Both want to achieve a doctorate in their field of choice(heart’s desire). One person named Lucy comes from a family where the highest level is form four. Another named Carol and in their family the least level of education is a grandaunt. Now, Lucy’s battle will be harder than Carol’s.  Lucy will have to deal with lack of motivation and mentors from within the family because they might not see the essence of climbing up the ladder of academics.  In some families they suffer addictions to alcohol and drugs. Someone from such a family will meet a tough battle in trying to get out of such an addiction. The violence towards freedom from addictions will be tough because you will be alone in this fight so you risk emotional hurt, being abandoned in the fight towards freedom because the innermost circle(family) is not helping instead it’s like you are being pulled down – case in point Joseph attacked by his brothers.

We can be violently attacked and not know it and hence do nothing about it. I remember sometime back, the Spirit of God would nudge me to pray for marriage but I would be hesitant and be like, “Jesus, I am not ready for marriage but if you want me to get married fine.” And that and would be the end of that but on other matters I would pray aggressively pray until I got a breakthrough. With time though, I, came to learn that my hesitation in this area of marriage was because I feared marriages. I thank God for my parents and I love them to bits but to be honest my dad’s weakness made me fear marriages. The thought of me and a man(husband)in the same house was very scary. My fear was that the man might want to harm and deny me the freedom to be myself and so for me the idea of marriage was not so appetizing. I thank the Lord that many years down the line, He has healed me and I am slowly but surely coming out of a manipulation that men are bad/beasts. They are good and human just like me but the understanding of this faces a lot of attacks but I know I will see the end of this. I have come from far and I don’t believe God has brought me this far to live me!!!

It’s possible that you could be experiencing traumas in your life, maybe a past that is painful and it makes you shudder at the thought of pushing past it and realizing a dream. Whatever it is, may the Spirit of God shed more light on the matter and direct your path towards victory. Amen!

Awareness of your life, your goals and aspirations and what is required to get them can also enable one to know what kind of battle is ahead. But not matter what the ‘goliaths’ we face, we give God the glory because He already won the battle on the cross and now through Him; we are victorious.

Victory is ours through Jesus Christ.

Joshua was told be strong and courageous{Joshua 1:7,9}. And that every where you step I shall give to you{Joshua 1:3}. Joshua was skilled, true. But, he became victorious because God made him so. Sarah had all it took to be someone’s wife, but it took the hand of God for her to be married to Tobias{Tobit chapter 7&8}. Hannah had all she needed to be a mother for she was of good health and had a husband, but it took the hand of God to bear children. We could have all it takes to be successful but it takes hand of God to make us victorious!

So let’s be humble and walk with God, let’s invite him in all our plans for His wisdom, direction, and even when it gets tough we are assured of victory{John 16:33}.

“I have told you these things, that you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

The Father

{John 14:9} Jesus answered, “For a long time I have been with you all; yet you do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. Why, then, do you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.

Who is the Father? The Creator, Adonai, Elshaddai, the Spirit, King of Kings, Lord of Lords. There are many definitions to the Father. But I am loving this particular one….”whoever has seen me has seen the Father.”

The Father is God. The Father sent His son Jesus Christ on earth that we could meet Him – He allowed us to meet Him through Jesus Christ! How awesome!😀😀 How wonderful!

It’s so sad that this beautiful answer is always missed – That the Father is the Son – they are one!

Let’s look at Jesus while on earth to give us a few answers about the Father.

1). He is Compassionate

{Matthew 14:15-16}

As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away , so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.” Jesus replied, “ They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”

2). He is full of mercy
{John 8:1-11}

4 “Teacher,” they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the act of adultery. The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?”

9 When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman. Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?”
“No, Lord,” she said. And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.”

3). He has power over sin and He forgives sin and sets us free from it. 😀

{Luke 5:20-21}

When Jesus saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.” The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves, “Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

4). He is a friend

{John 11:1-44}

A man named Lazarus was sick. He lived in Bethany with his sisters, Mary and Martha.

This is the Mary who later poured the expensive perfume on the Lord’s feet and wiped them with her hair.[a] Her brother, Lazarus, was sick. So the two sisters sent a message to Jesus telling him, “Lord, your dear friend is very sick.”

5) He has power over demons

{Mark 5:6-8;18-20}

When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him. He shouted at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In God’s name don’t torture me!” For Jesus had said to him, “Come out of this man, you impure spirit!……..18 As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon possessed begged to go with him. Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis[b] how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed.

6). He is very understanding hence he doesn’t judge as man does.
He knows our pain, our anguish, our tears, our struggles and guess what he understands it’s all! Our past – he knows. Our mistakes – he sees, knows and he still chooses to love and lead us towards the path of righteousness and restoration if we corporate with him like Zaccheaus the tax collector did.

{Luke 19:5-10}

When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.” So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly.

All the people saw this and began to mutter, “He has gone to be the guest of a sinner.”

Who is God the Father? The answer lies in who is Jesus Christ. Have you met Jesus? If so, the you have met the Father.

Christ thy kingdom come…

There is a light at the end of every tunnel….a statement that is currently helping me a lot. This tunnel is not the artificial tunnel built by engineers – nope. These are tunnels we find ourselves in because of one reason or the other.

There are tunnels called rejection
There are tunnels called poverty
There are tunnels called sickness
There are tunnels called witchcraft
There are tunnels called addictions
There are tunnels called curses
There are tunnels called  depression

Tunnels can be many and they are different, but I thank the Lord Jesus because no matter how long, dark or cold that tunnel is; there is always light at the end of each tunnel. This is not the sun’s light or KPLC light. It is a light that doesn’t fade away, a light that is bright yet cool, peaceful, powerful, warm and welcoming. This light is called Jesus Christ. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

A light that came to the world to save us from darkness that wanted to finish us.

Isaiah 61:1

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, Because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners;

A light that is sometimes misunderstood. When it came to the world it was judged, rejected, hated and was to be shut down completely. But what the world didn’t know is that this light cannot be shut, this light cannot be destroyed. It came to stay 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

This light proved to us that it is not like other lights(gods)that soon disappear, worse yet enslave us and for the rest of our lives if we are not careful. This light is special. It is strong. It’s the real deal. It cannot be polluted. It cannot be corrupted. It is for everyone. The rich and the poor. The men and women. It is for everyone and has come to shine to everyone – revealing truth along the way, saving and setting captive free and it is here to stay!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

It has come to reveal truth – “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32.

It has come to light our paths and has come to save and set us free – Isaiah 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.

John 8:36 –  So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

I pray we meet this light called Jesus Christ in our tunnels or dungeons. For when we do: We meet freedom. We meet truth. We meet joy. We meet strength. We meet peace that surpasses human understanding. We meet all we ever needed and so much more.😀 Amen

Christ thy kingdom come

God bless you

Jesus loves you

From this statement does life begin.

From this statement do we get the strength to become who we are and called to be.

From this statement are we able to conquer and become victorious.

From this statement do we find joy.

From this statement do we find peace – peace that surpasses human understanding.

From this statement do we find purpose.

From this statement do we find the reason to be alive😃😃👏🏼👏🏼

From this statement do we find the reason, strength and energy to love ourselves.

From this statement stems life, hope, breathe and power to become.

Freedom and victory are found in this statement.

Do you know this statement? Have you ever heard 👂of it? Seen 👀 it? Read 📖about it? If you have, then you should be free from fear, lust, lies, name it; you should be free from bondage.

A bondage that makes us want to give up.

We should be free from the bondage of fear.

We should be free from a bondage called sin.

We should be free from a bondage called lies and manipulation.

We should be free from bondage called addiction.

We should be free. Love came to save and set us free from hell on earth. Love died on the cross, shed blood so that we could be free.

Why are we not free then? Why do we sometimes want to give up? To quit? Why is discouragement taking over us?

Maybe because we don’t know this statement and if we did, maybe we just don’t believe it. Some think it’s a lie, it’s a fuss, a feel good motivational statement. Well, it’s not. It’s not a lie, it’s not a fuss and it’s not a by the way feel good, motivational statement. It’s the truth and we shall know the truth, and the truth shall set us free. {John 8:32}Alleluia🙌

Jesus loves you and me – a truth and a fact that is well explained on the cross and in His word.

1 John 4:10 – This is what love is: it is not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the means by which our sins are forgiven.

Don’t allow a lie to manipulate you into a life less than what was passed to you on the cross.

You are fearfully and wonderfully made.

You are a conquer in Jesus name and through His powerful blood.

You have every reason to be alive, happy and peaceful because you deserve it and Jesus who is love, power & might conquered that it could be so. Halleluiyah👏👏👏

You are powerful, you are peaceful, you are fearfully and wonderfully made, you are alive and it’s awesome to be alive.

Jesus fought for my life and he fought for your life.

He did it out of love. He did it intentionally. Why? So that we may enjoy this gift called life that He gave us.

Thank you Jesus for the gift of life🙏🙏

He fought for this gift so that we may enjoy it, that we may enjoy the gifting, talents, blessings, relationships, families, friendships, jobs, careers etecetra that come with life!

Now, if He, Jesus went through the pains of humiliation, torture, rejection for the sake of us – His children to have life in full measure according to His will and graces, then why do we let Him down by giving up on ourselves, giving up on our salvation. Why do we believe lies of the devil?

After all that was done for our salvation, then it is a pity for anyone to want to give up in life and on God’s salvation.

Don’t give up in life. If someone died that you could have it, then it means that person knows the value of the gift you have and He needs us to not only enjoy it but to also take care of it.

Don’t give up, don’t quit, don’t want to die! Jesus loves us. He loves you and me {personally}just the way we are and He has a way out of every situation na hakuna jambo ngumu kwake.

John 14:6 – Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

John 6:37 – Everyone whom my Father gives me will come to me. I will never turn away anyone who comes to me. Read – I will not reject anyone who comes to me.

There is nothing new under the sun; Ecclesiastes 1:9 – What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.

and this too shall come to pass, whatever it is(difficulty, pain, anxieties, anguish, worries, depression, hopelessness, disease…shall come pass. Hold on, just hold to faith and to hope. He’s got your back and He who loves us to bits to the point of death actually

Romans 5:8 – But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

and He will see us through anything so that we can have life in abundance{John10:10b}. That we can enjoy this gift called life that has given to each and everyone of us.

God is good, all the time. And all the time, God is good.

Christ thy kingdom come.

God loves you  and God bless you.

Vindu Vichangenjanga(vichenganga)

IMG_20190807_104159The skies today. I compare today and how it was yesterday. Today it’s cloudy and cold. Yesterday it was a clear blue sky and quite hot. It reminds me that nothing remains the same.

Today it will be hot and unbearable; tomorrow it will be cool and peaceful🍃🌴😊🙏🏽.

Today things will work out, tomorrow they might not or vice versa

Today you are sick, tomorrow you’re healthy and strong.

Today you meet rejection and tomorrow you meet favour and blessings.

Yaani, nothing remains the same. Seasons come and go.

Vindu vichangenjanga – meaning things, circumstances, situations, people, events do change. Nothing is permanent but God and His love 👏🏼👏🏼

I remember there was a time, I used to struggle financially, so much so mpaka 20/- ya kushona kiatu sikuwa nayo.🙆🏽 Around that time I struggled to get rent and food to eat. There were times I ate bananas and strong tea as lunch, at times I ate donuts and strong tea for supper and the same for breakfast the next day😔. I was employed, yes, but my salo was so little that I couldn’t even settle debts😢. I remember times when I used to cry😢😭 because of my pathetic situation na kuzidisha I could get acidity(build up of acid in the stomach) coz of stress and the doctor insists, “you need to eat well” and I wonder, “na pesa gani” because I didn’t have money for proper food. Waah!! God is good👏👏I tell you because that devil was defeated on the cross and now I walk in victory. Alleluia🙌🙌👏👏😃😃

God is good that I never gave up on Him, I never gave up on hope and I never gave up on faith. At that time, I still used to pray big prayers among and tell Jesus, “I pray for the day I will eat proper food🍛🍲and have money for the next day, “I pray to have money to make my hair and buy new clothes because the ones I had; had started to fade in colour and became monotonous. I kept the hope alive or rather Jesus my strength kept the hope alive for me until I crossed to the other side of the valley!!!
Now, I have money to buy good food, pay rent, buy clothes, pay bills and life continues….

Lives, situations, events and circumstances do change and they do change to our favour and unto the glory of the Father because that is what He wills for us. To have a full life of abundance. Of hope. Of peace and security. Of freedom and victory. If He didn’t want that, then why does He forgive and break power of sin, why did He send His son to suffer and become a curse for our sake and then be glorified to become our salvation and victory. If He didn’t will our freedom and prosperity then it means we call Him a liar when He says that, He is love(1john 4:8).

God is love❤ and everything He does is out of love. He created my life and your life out of love. He also has control over our lives meaning – He has the final say on condition that we surrender our lives to Him.

Vindu vichangenjanga; some vitake time while others vichange pap! And I believe we have all an experience(s) of both cases. Whether it takes time to change or change comes pap! He still remains to be God of miracles, powerful and provider and He knows why He answers prayers the way He does and at the time📅 that He does.

For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength. {1Corinthians 1:25}

Our part, I believe, after we have done what is required of us, is to trust and obey and believe He is working for our good. Remember God is love and He loves people 😃

He does good and works out of love for those who honour Him. {Psalms 103:11}

In the mean time, as we wait for our lives and situations to change for the better – the future that we hope for{Jeremiah 29:11}. I would say, savour the moment! Relish every moment of your season and time. In your anguish, anxiety, pain, difficulty, confusion, sickness e.t.c so is there a  grace (a power, a strength) to see 👀 you through it. Relish the moment or in other words enjoy your season, learn as much as you can from it, get as close as you can this power, might and love called Jesus Christ, son of the living God, allow yourself to grow spiritually, mentally and emotionally sometimes even physically.

Because it will not always be like this. It will not always be tears of sorrow, sadness, gloom, hardship, starvation…nope! It will soon come to an end and when it does we shall glorify God together with you over the victory🙌🙌

However, it will be sad when a season ends and we didn’t learn or grow as much as we ought to have in that season for the new morning(blessings) that have come our way.

God bless you and God keep you. Amina.

Enjoy your evening and may you meet God’s love and joy as you go about your evening and life in general.

God loves people

God loves people more than anything. God loves people more than anything. More than anything He wants them to know that He’ll never let them go because God loves people more than anything….and the song continues.

God does love people more than anything and it’s the truth.
John 3:16 New International Version (NIV)
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Romans 5:5-7New International Version (NIV)

5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

God loves us and it’s a truth that the devil tries to steal away from us especially in difficult and painful times because during those moments it can be hard to focus on the love of God.

The reason could be because of the hurt and pain we get angry with God and we ask the question why? This question sometimes may not get an answer as fast as we expect and so we get more hurt, bitter, angry and worst case scenario we feel abandoned or forgotten by Jesus.

One can even feel like amechoka 😩 and want to give up because it could be the same vikwazo again, the same blocks again!! Sometimes, it feels like we have moved from one pain to another from one challenge to another😩😠😭😭😫

Cases, scenarios, situations are different for every one. However, in all things Jesus is still Lord, He is still speaking and His  love  is still pouring out to His people – me and you included

His love doesn’t stop pouring out when we find ourselves in the valley (psalms 23:4) of the shadow of death(in the valley of pain, confusion, sickness, failure, rejection e.t.c). No, on the contrary, and if you are careful to note, His love is quite strong during those difficult times. It’s in the valleys that we feel HIM more. Okay, the love of Jesus pours out  to all of us and at all times but I feel depending on the challenge or the season we are facing at a particular time, then it pours out the more so that it can be sufficient to take us through the valley and on to the other side called green pastures( freedom, prosperity growth,…….)

How do we survive the valley and walk through it to the other side that Jesus wants us to be at?

1). Keep the hope alive.
Isaiah 41:10 – Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Isaiah 40:31

But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

2). Be positive
Proverbs 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.

Romans 12:2 – Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

I have learnt that when I’m down the best thing is  to remain positive that my pain will soon be over and I will rejoice in His victory over my life and have such a big testimony at end. Harreruiyahhh!!👏👏🙌🙌😄😄

3). Pray and don’t stop praying 🙏 and if you feel like umechoka, then stay where there is Jesus power. Listen to Jesus songs, go for mass and be ministered to. Let someone pray for you if possible. The Holy Spirit who is faithful, I believe will meet us at our point of need. When we move away from Jesus power, it becomes easy for the devil to attack and do a lot of damage but with Jesus on our side we will always emerge victorious. For he is THE ALPHA AND THE OMEGA, THE OMNIPOTENT, AND THE OMNIPRESENT. He is always in control, he is always a victor and HE always has the last laugh!! Meaning in Him we always have the last laugh😂 alleluia!!!

4). Focus on the love of God – a love that is in us and around us. It’s everywhere. The more we focus and concentrate on this love, the more we gain strength and are able to mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically resist the lies that the devil uses to make is feel abandoned, betrayed or even forgotten by our Father in heaven.

God loves you and God loves me and that’s fact that even nature knows too well…😊 The red sea had to part ways for the loved ones of God to pass lest their enemies attack them and destroy them{Exodus 14:16-30}

The ravens had to bring meat and bread every morning to God’s loved one(Elijah) while in the desert lest He die of hunger!! {1 Kings 17:4-6 }.

God loves you and me and we are His business as clearly stated in Isaiah 49:16 – He loving says, “Jerusalem, I can never forget you! I have written(engraved) your name on the palm of my hands.”

As if to personally say, “I love you Grace Gitau.(—–put your name too——) and you are my priority, you are my business.” It feels good to know this right?

The devil and wicked people in our lives can and do try many tricks, to harm and discourage us, so as to pull us down. But Jesus protects us from this hence proving his love and faithfulness to us through victory in His powerful blood, levelling the mountains{Isaiah 45:2-3} in the way to our victory and if that’s not enough giving us authority through the Holy Spirit to step on the devil and attain much needed freedom and victory in life. And on top of that He sends His angels to fight, pray, interceded, protect even be our guide( Psalms 91:11-12 ). Now, if that is not love ama kujitolea for the sake of love…I don’t know what is.

God loves you and God loves me. I pray may we grasp this fact in Jesus name. May our eyes, heart and mind be opened up to this fact in Jesus name. May this fact give us peace that surpasses human understanding, may it be our reason to be joyful even in tribulations, may it be our continuity in life and our reason to fight and move on always towards a full life of hope, joy, freedom and victory 👏👏🙌🙌Alleluia. Amina.

God is love and He loves you sana, sana tena sana. Have a good night and God bless you.

Thief Part II

Growth is good. If you want to know it’s good – look at a baby grow. They come from sitting, to crawling, to standing, to jumping, to running. They move from baby thoughts to maturity, from the parents handling everything to the child handling everything for themselves.

Children grow mentally, academically, physically and spiritually and it’s a good thing. It’s beautiful and it’s worth giving God the glory.

Everyone wants to see a child grow to become better and if they don’t grow especially towards a positive direction of which is beneficial for them, then we ask ourselves questions. Why?

Another important question to ask is: Does it disturb me when I don’t grow? Does it disturb me when my dream or vision doesn’t mature or materialise? Is it still a baby, has it never moved past sitting or crawling stage? Has it never matured? Did it cross to next level?

Could fear be one of the reasons why I am stagnant? Not growing or not moving?

If fear is the reason then it’s fear of what? Is it fear of the unknown, failure, rejection, hardship, shame, ridicule, the devil🤔. The reasons can be endless and unique depending on the individual.

When we are about to grow/move to the next level/get promoted/move out of the comfort zone chances are we shall meet fear but we have to make a decision to always challenge it and move past or rise above it. This is where courage comes in.

I have noticed how lack of courage has affected my growth curve and also how it has affected other people’s growth curve too. I have also learnt that until we apply courage( stepping out in faith) will we then realise the power and blessing that comes with growth.

Joshua 1:5-9 –  I love these scriptures because they reminds us that application of faith and courage = victory(success) hence growth😀😀. The scriptures also remind us that God is a friend – a powerful friend and confidant who we can trust to always be there, to walk us through our journeys and with Him we are bound to be victorious!!

Growth – positive growth is awesome and something to always be celebrated . However, it has enemies among them is laziness but even the most hard working and smart people will tell you that we need to be courageous, bold and of strong faith to achieve success(growth).

I have since come to learn that courage is not the absence of fear, rather it’s faith in action.

All the best to all of us in this area of stepping out in faith towards our dreams, goals and aspirations.

God bless you.
